Why I tested The GMAX HH-65

As someone who has been in the market for a new half-shell helmet, I was intrigued by the GMAX HH-65, which I had heard was a top seller in its category. After trying it out, I could immediately see why. 

The polycarbonate shell is incredibly lightweight, weighing in at just over two pounds, and the helmet comes with a variety of features that I found incredibly useful.

First of all, I appreciate that G-Max is based in the United States and that they stand behind their products. 

The fact that all their helmets come with a three-year warranty, which is longer than the industry standard, shows their confidence in their products. 

Plus, it gives me peace of mind knowing that if anything were to happen to my helmet, I have that added protection.

When it comes to bang for your buck, G-Max delivers. I purchased their dot half-shell helmet with the drop-down advisor, quick-release chin straps, and an extra clear lens for only $99. It’s incredible to get all those features and still have an affordable helmet. 

Additionally, they have some cool graphics available, and I went with the copper graphic, which has a beautiful pearl and paint finish. It’s no surprise that this helmet is one of their top sellers at the moment.

Shell Construction

One of the standout features of the HH-65 is its shape, which falls somewhere in the middle of a round and long oval. 

For me, this was a great fit, and I appreciated that it was true to size based on the measurement guide. 

It’s worth noting that some users have found the helmet to create a bit of a “mushroom head” effect, but I personally didn’t find this to be too noticeable.
