Sizing and Fit

I’m 5′ 7″ with an athletic build, 34″ bust, and weigh 140 lbs. Based on Rev’it’s size chart, I opted for a size medium in both the jacket and pants.

The size medium provides a tailored and comfortable fit for my proportions. I have full mobility in the sleeves and torso without the jacket feeling restrictive. The pants are relaxed in the seat and thighs without being baggy or billowy.

Evaluating Performance and Functionality

Over several months, I tested the Rev’it Sand 4 jacket and pants in diverse riding scenarios and conditions. Here’s how they stacked up.

Weather Protection

I rode through heavy downpours and storms during a 2-week motorcycle tour to assess water resistance.

The Hydratex liner and coated outer shell of the Sand 4 combo kept me completely dry in heavy rain for up to 30 minutes. Only a faint dampness developed on my upper arms after hours of continuous rainfall.

The multitude of vents and mesh panels in warmer weather allow excellent airflow. I stayed cool riding in up to 85°F temps with the vents open.

Quick adjustment straps on the jacket’s cuffs, collar, and hem sealed out wind when needed.

Armor and Safety

The included CE-approved armor provides effective impact protection while maintaining flexibility. The elbow and shoulder armor shielded my joints during an accidental low-speed spill. I’d recommend upgrading to Level 2 hip armor for even greater crash protection.
