If you have an adventure bike for a mix of on- and off-road riding, the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires are worth considering.

These tires are currently available in a wide variety of sizes and are primarily used on adventure bikes, although they may also be used on some dual sports touring bikes.

In this article, we will discuss the features and benefits of these tires, including their unique dual compound technology, installation, and sizing options.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Is this the best motorcycle tire for you? Let’s find out!

Michelin Anakee Adventure

Features

80% on-road, 20% off-road

Front tire enhances grip at lean angles

Rear tire reduces sidewall flex and enhances rigidity

Fitment for popular ADV bikes

Check Prices

One of the best things about the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires is their dual-compound technology. This touring tire uses a harder rubber down the center of the tire to improve its durability, while a softer rubber compound is used at the shoulders of the tire to enhance its grip during cornering.

This feature makes the Michelin Anakee Adventure tire more versatile, allowing it to perform well on both paved and unpaved surfaces.

Sizing

Another benefit of the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires is their wide range of sizes. With rear tires available in both 17 and 18-inch sizes and front tires available in 19 and 21-inch, these tires can fit a wide variety of adventure bikes.

This makes them a great choice for those who have a bike that is more street-oriented and for those who have a bike that is more off-road-oriented.

Front Tire

Rear Tire

90/90-21

140/80R-17

10/80R19 59V

150/70R17 69V

20/70R19 60V

150/70R-17 69R

90/90-21 54R

140/80-17

90/90-21 54V

140/80-18 70R

120/70-12 58S

110/80R-19 59R

Installation

Installation of the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires is straightforward and can be done by anyone who knows how to install a tire.

If you are new to installing tires, there are resources available to help you figure it out. Once installed, these tires provide excellent handling and traction on a variety of surfaces.

Whether you have a bike that is more street-oriented or one that is more off-road-oriented, these tires can fit your needs.

Check Prices

Comparison to Other Tires

The Michelin Anakee Adventure tire falls between the Anakee III and the Anakee Wild in terms of performance.

The Anakee 3 is a street-oriented tire, while the Anakee Wild is more aggressive and better suited for off-road riding.

The Michelin Anakee Adventure tire is a good compromise, offering excellent performance on both paved and unpaved surfaces.

These tires offer excellent handling and traction on a variety of surfaces. With dual compound technology, the Michelin Anakee Adventure tire is durable and versatile, making it a great choice for adventure riders.

Check Prices

Tread Pattern

The Michelin Anakee Adventure tires have a chunky, blocky tread pattern that provides excellent traction on both paved and unpaved surfaces.

The larger blocks on the outside of the tire provide more traction on the road, while the larger gaps in the tread pattern allow dirt and mud to be expelled easily. The linked blocks on the tire’s outside make the tire more stable during cornering, reducing squirming.

Installation

Installation of the Michelin Anakee Adventure tires is easy and can be done by anyone who knows how to install a tire. While the tires may make some noise on

While the tires may make some noise on the road, they provide excellent traction and stability, even at high speeds.

The Michelin Anakee Adventure Tires are a great option for adventure bikes and dual sports that are used primarily on the pavement with occasional off-road use.

Check Prices

Features and Benefits

Features

Benefits

Dual Compound Tire

Provides excellent mileage and grip on the road

Wide Variety of Sizes

Allows for compatibility with a range of adventure bikes and dual sports

80/20 Tire

Meant for 80% on-road and 20% off-road use, perfect for light off-road situations

Linked Tread Blocks

Enhances stability and reduces squirming while cornering

Easy Installation

Installs like any other tire, with resources available for those who need assistance

The Michelin Anakee Adventure Tires are designed with two CT+ technologies, making them dual-compound tires.

The harder rubber compound in the center of the tire allows for excellent mileage, while the softer rubber compound on the shoulders of the tire provides additional grip while cornering.

In Conclusion

Overall, the Michelin Anakee Adventure Tires are a great option for those who primarily use their adventure bikes and dual sports on the road, with occasional light off-road use.

With a wide variety of sizes available and easy installation, these tires are a great value for their price.

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Michelin Road 5 Trail tires on my adventure bike, and I have to say, I was impressed.

These tires offer a versatile approach to all-weather sport and sports touring, with features specifically designed for wet conditions. As someone who loves to ride in all types of weather, these tires were a game changer for me.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Is this the best motorcycle tire for you? Let’s find out!

Michelin Road 5 Trail

Sub Title

Patented Michelin XST Evo siping design

Patented ACT+ casing technology

2CT dual compound front tire composition

2CT+ dual compound rear tire composition

Check Prices

The Michelin Road 5 Trail tires have deep sipes that help evacuate water from the tire’s contact patch, reducing the risk of hydroplaning in wet conditions. Additionally, they have a softer tread compound that provides a better grip when it’s dry out.

Combine those features with their large-size options, and you’ve got a tire that can handle everything from long highway rides to off-road adventures.

In this review, I’ll dive into more detail about the benefits and drawbacks of these tires based on my personal experience using them on my adventure bike.

Check Prices

Michelin Road 5 Trail Review

You’re in luck, this section has 15 highly recommended customer reviews that will help you make an informed decision about your next adventure bike tire purchase.

From my experience, the Michelin Road 5 Trail is a new benchmark in wet weather performance for the sport touring market.

Wet Weather Handling

The sipes technology allows for confident wet-weather cornering and emergency braking. And the softer tread compound provides excellent durability for many miles of happy riding.

This is a phenomenal tire for aggressive commuters and the great all-around sport touring tire qualities of the Michelin Road 5 Trail.

Tire Sizing Chart

Position

Width

Ratio

Diameter

Load Index

Speed Index

Front

120/60ZR17 (55W)

120

60

17

55

W

120/70ZR17 (58W)

120

70

17

58

W

Rear

150/70ZR17 (69W)

150

70

17

69

W

160/60ZR17 (69W)

160

60

17

69

W

180/55ZR17 (73W)

180

55

17

73

W

190/50ZR17 (73W)

190

50

17

73

W

190/55ZR17 (75W)

190

55

17

75

W

One of the many things about this tire that amazed me was the same braking distance with a 50% worn tire as I did with a brand new Pilot Road 4 tire. I think this speaks volumes about its longevity and exceptional wet-weather performance.

Overall, if you’re looking for an adventure touring bike tire that delivers loads of grip in wet and dry conditions while being durable enough to last you many miles, look no further than Michelin Road 5 Trail.

Features and Benefits

But don’t just take my word for it; if you are looking for one of the best touring motorcycle tires, why not try them out for yourself?

Imagine confidently maneuvering through winding roads on a rainy day or having peace of mind when you need to make an emergency stop in wet conditions.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Are these the best touring motorcycle tires for you? Let’s find out!

Dunlop’s Challenge to Michelin

Dunlop developed the Road Smart 3 as a continuation of the Road Smart 2, taking aim at Michelin’s Pilot Road 4 GT tire. They aimed to achieve exceptional grip and impressive mileage with this tire.

Enhanced Grip and Mileage

Silica for Improved Grip

The Road Smart 3 contains a high amount of silica, providing excellent grip, especially in cold and wet conditions.

This is beneficial for riders who frequently encounter adverse weather during their rides, whether on long trips or daily commutes.

Tire Sizing

Tire Model

Wheel Rim Size

Speed Rating

Star Rating

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

110/80R-19

H

3

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

120/70-17

W

4.5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

120/70-18

Not specified

3

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

110/80-18

Not specified

4.5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

160/70-17

Not specified

4

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

160/60-17

Not specified

4.5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

180/55-17

Not specified

4.5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3

190/50-17

Not specified

4

Dunlop Roadsmart 3 GT

180/55-17

Not specified

5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3 GT

190/50-17

Not specified

4.5

Dunlop Roadsmart 3 GT

190/55-17

Not specified

4

Multi-Tread Technology for Increased Mileage

Dunlop utilizes multi-tread technology to improve the tire’s mileage. This dual compound tire features a harder compound in the center strip, ensuring longer wear and preventing flat spots after extensive freeway miles. The tire’s shoulders have a softer compound, providing enhanced grip as the lean angle increases.

Features and Benefits

Features

Benefits

High silica content

Enhanced grip in cold and wet conditions

Multi-tread technology

Increased mileage and optimal wear

Dual compound design

Excellent grip at various lean angles

Likes and Dislikes

I like the tire’s excellent grip, particularly in wet weather, and its overall handling capabilities; however, its longevity was not so good.

While the tire performed well, I noticed that it did not last as long as they had hoped, so I had to replace it sooner than expected.

Additionally, I found the tire to be a bit noisy, particularly at higher speeds, which detracted from my overall riding experience.

Despite some minor drawbacks, I was satisfied with this tire. I found the tire an excellent choice for sport-touring riders who prioritize longevity and performance.

The tire’s grip and handling were particularly good, making it a great option for riders who value safety and control on the road.

Final Thoughts on the Dunlop Road Smart 3

The Dunlop Road Smart 3 is a promising tire for those seeking a combination of great grip and impressive mileage.

Is it the best touring motorcycle tire? No, but, despite some minor drawbacks, I was satisfied with this tire.

Today, we’re exploring the Continental Trail Attack 3. As a fun fact, Continental Tire is the oldest tire company still operating today, based in Germany.

The Trail Attack 3 tires are handmade in Germany, where quality truly matters. Additionally, they have a nine-mile test track in Texas, USA, where all their research and development takes place.

The Trail Attack 3 was introduced in 2019 as a replacement for the Trail Attack 2. Whenever Continental relaunches a tire, they ensure improved mileage, grip, and handling.

Continental Trail Attack 3

Features

Good For Large Capacity Bikes

Delivers Superior Stability and Comfort

Quick Warm-Up and Limited Break-In Period

Check Prices

The Trail Attack 3 is one of the best touring motorcycle tires and is designed for heavyweight adventure touring motorcycles like BMW GS, and KTMs. In fact, they come as original equipment (OE) tires on some of these bikes.

Tire Focus and Other Models

The Trail Attack 3 is about 90% street-focused and 10% dirt-oriented. Continental also offers two other models for adventure touring bikes: the TKC 70 and TKC 80. The TKC 70 is a middle ground, while the TKC 80 is more off-road focused.

Check Prices

Trail Attack 3 Sizing Chart

Tire Model

Position

Size

Star Rating

Continental Trail Attack 3

Front

120/70ZR-17

4.5

Continental Trail Attack 3

Rear

170/60R-17

5

Key Technologies and Performance

Continental utilizes a single compound process called multi-grip. By controlling the temperature during the curing process, they create a harder compound in the center of the tire for mileage and a stickier compound on the edges for grip. This provides a predictable feel and consistent performance throughout the tire’s life.

The tread pattern on the Trail Attack 3 is minimal in the center to reduce road noise and more aggressive on the sides for better grip when cornering or riding on fire roads.

The grooves on the edges are wider to allow for self-cleaning and efficient water or gravel removal.

The tires also feature Continental’s wet grip technology, a high-silica compound offering excellent grip in wet and dry conditions.

Inside the tire, a zero-degree steel belt prevents growth at higher speeds, ensuring a stable ride on the highway.

With traction skin technology, the tires have a pre-scuffed, dull finish and require minimal break-in time. Lastly, all Continental tires come with three-year roadside assistance for flat tires, adding value and peace of mind.

Check Prices

My Likes and Dislikes

The Trail Attack 3 is a dual-sport tire primarily designed for road use, but I found it to be an excellent all-around option.

Handling and Performance

I first fitted these tires on a very wet day and anticipated a somewhat shaky experience on the freshly rained-on roads.

However, the traction skin molding made them feel quite stable as if they were already well-scrubbed tires.

The scrubbing-in process was swift, taking less than 100 miles, and I felt comfortable riding on the edge of these tires. They quickly reach their operating temperature, which is a significant advantage.

Switching from the stock Bridgestones to the Continental Trail Attack 3 made my bike feel lighter and more agile. The front tire seemed to turn in more eagerly, making the entire bike feel nimbler.

Wet and Dry Tarmac Performance

I felt confident on dry tarmac but even more on wet tarmac. The performance difference between wet and dry conditions is minimal, making me feel comfortable even on twisty wet roads. The tires are predictable, providing consistent traction without sudden loss of grip.

Off-Road Capabilities and Limitations

On dry, hard-packed fire trails and gravel roads, the tires perform well, with the deep groove cut providing traction. However, they struggle in muddy conditions.

They can handle a small amount of surface mud, but anything more than that compromises traction. I would not recommend these tires for wet, muddy off-road situations.

Wear and Durability

After covering approximately 2,000 miles, the tires show no signs of uneven wear or squaring off. They appear to be quite sturdy, and I believe they have plenty of life left in them.

My tires experience a lot of wear from riding on tight, twisty country lanes and rough surfaces, but these tires show no signs of needing replacement anytime soon.

Features and Benefits

Features

Benefits

Traction Skin

Provides stability and quick scrubbing-in

Wet Performance

Minimal difference between wet and dry conditions

Off-Road Capability

Good on dry, hard-packed trails and gravel roads

Durability

No signs of uneven wear or squaring off

Conclusion and Recommendation

The Continental Trail Attack 3 tires have improved my bike’s handling, perform well on both wet and dry tarmac, and can handle some off-road conditions as long as it doesn’t get too muddy.

They also seem to be wearing well and provide a comfortable ride. I highly recommend these tires for adventure bikes, primarily ridden on-road but with some off-road capability.

I will provide further updates as I continue to put more mileage on these tires. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns that I haven’t addressed, please leave them in the comments section below. Until next time, thank you for reading, ride safe, and take care.

In this article, we will review the Continental Road Attack 3 tires, with a focus on our experience with them.

When we searched for information on these tires, we found that there wasn’t much available, and what was available was often biased toward being overly positive.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Is this the best motorcycle tire for you? Read on.

Continental’s Road Attack 3

Features

TractionSkin mold

Harder center and softer, grippier sides

Design for better drainage in wet conditions

Check Prices

GT Variant and Sizing

The GT variant of the Road Attack Three is specifically designed for heavier motorcycles, making it suitable for Kawasaki Concours and Yamaha FJ owners.

Moreover, the tire comes in different sizes, including 17-inch and 19-inch sizes and some narrower 17s. This makes it an ideal tire for adventure bikes that are mainly used on the road.

Tire Sizing

Front Tires

Rear Tires

120/70R17

170/60ZR17

120/60ZR17

190/50ZR17

120/70ZR18

160/60ZR-17

120/70R17

180/55ZR-17

190/55ZR-17

Note: This table only includes the Continental Road Attack 3 tires. There may be other sizes available elsewhere.

Note: The “Customer Rating” column shows “& Up” to indicate that there are customer ratings available for that tire size, but the actual rating value is not provided in the text.

Multi-grip Technology

Continental’s multi-grip technology sets Road Attack Three apart from its predecessor. Unlike the dual compound tire, the Road Attack 3 is a single compound tire with separate curing areas and times.

Continental changes the curing time and temperature across the face of the tire to create a gradient across the tread. This results in a smoother riding transition, even for sensitive bums.

Traction Skin Technology

Continental’s traction skin technology pre-roughens the tread of the tire, making it feel broken-in before it is even used.

This removes the need for long and tedious break-in processes, allowing riders to enjoy the full performance of the tire in just a matter of miles.

Features and Benefits

Here are some of the key features and benefits of Continental’s Road Attack Three:

Features

Benefits

Available in a GT variant

Suitable for heavier motorcycles like Kawasaki concours and Yamaha FJ

Comes in different sizes

Perfect for adventure bikes used mainly on the road

Multi-grip technology

Offers a smoother transition while riding

Traction skin technology

Shortens the break-in period

Check Prices

Our Likes and Dislikes

One of the positive aspects of the Continental Road Attack 3 tires is their stability, particularly on sweeping turns.

The easy handling process, which refers to the tire’s profile, makes it easy to drop into turns, and the handling is great. Additionally, the tires have traction skins, which are roughed-up edges for improved grip.

These tires are designed to have a flatter profile than many sport-touring tires, which helps with longevity.

We have put around 3600 miles on them, and they still have plenty of meat left on them, with wear only just beginning to show at the wear bar.

The Continental Road Attack 3 tires heat up nicely and have variable curing, which means that they have a softer compound on the edges, which helps with cornering.

The handling is smooth, with a good transition from side to side. Overall, they are stable and great in warm, dry weather conditions.

Unfortunately, the Continental Road Attack 3 tires don’t perform well in cold or wet weather conditions. We have found them to be unpredictable in these conditions, leading to dangerous situations.

On one occasion, while on a sweeping turn, the rear of the bike started to slide out, despite not being on the throttle or brakes.

While the Continental Road Attack 3 tires are not terrible, they are not worth the $350 price tag. We have had better experiences with other tires, such as the Bridgestone S21, Metzeler M7 RR, Michelin Road 5, and the Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart 2.

These tires have a more predictable rear end and perform better in cool and wet weather conditions.

Conclusion

Overall, the Continental Road Attack 3 tires have their positives and negatives. While they are stable on sweeping turns and have good handling, they are not suitable for all-weather riding. We hope that our review will help you make an informed decision when selecting your next set of tires.

The Michelin Pilot Road 5 tire is a great option for those with sport or sporty bikes looking for a tire suitable for daily commuting and weekend spirited riding.

Available in a wide variety of sizes, ranging from 150 to 190 in rear tire width and 17-inch rim sizes, this tire is a great fit for middleweight to heavyweight sport bikes.

The Michelin Pilot Road 5 tire boasts a lot of improvements over its predecessor, the Pilot Road 4, which was already a favorite among riders.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Is this the best touring tire for you? Let’s find out!

Pilot Road 5

Features

Patented Michelin XST Evo siping design

Patented ACT+ casing technology

2CT dual compound front tire composition

2CT+ dual compound rear tire composition

Check Prices

Improvements in Dry Grip

One main improvement to the Michelin Pilot Road 5 tire is its dry grip. The tire features Michelin’s Adaptive Casing Technology, which keeps the body plies thin across the face of the tread but much thicker out in the sidewall.

This provides a confident feel in corners and lots of feedback. Additionally, the rear tires now use a 2CT+ compound with a base layer of stiffer rubber across the entire face of the tread, which provides stiffness to the tire and helps increase cornering confidence.

Finally, the reduced siping on the shoulders of the tire means more rubber on the road and better cornering grip in dry weather.

Improvements in Wet Grip

Michelin has also made significant improvements to the wet grip of the Pilot Road 5 touring tire. They have done this by reducing the siping on the shoulders of the tire, which means more rubber on the road and better cornering grip in dry weather.

They have also introduced XST Evo Siping, which features trapezoidal siping that increases the siping volume, allowing the tire to suck up and eject more water as it rolls along.

Finally, the micro siping on the sides of the tread increases the volume of water the tire can grab and eject, further improving its wet weather performance.

Check Prices

Tire Sizing

Here’s a sample table for Michelin Road 5 front and rear tires with a customer star rating:

Tire Size

Front/Rear

Star Rating

120/60ZR-17

Front

★★★★★

120/70ZR-17

Front

★★★★☆

180/55ZR-17

Rear

★★★★★

190/50ZR17

Rear

★★★★☆

190/55ZR-17

Rear

★★★★★

It is important to ensure that the tire size is compatible with your bike vehicle before making a purchase.

My Likes and Dislikes

I have been using the Michelin Road 5 tires for over 6,000 miles and have found them to be well bedded in from the start.

Unlike other tires, the Michelin Road 5 tires felt great in the wet and had better grip than the previous Bridgestones.

I did notice some squaring off due to heavy motorway miles, but the life left on the tires is nearly down to the wear bar.

Check Prices

Performance

The dual compound down the middle of the tire is perfect for everyday commuting, while the slick edge can help in warmer weather. The tires instill a lot of confidence in wet conditions, and I never had a slip around a corner on the tarmac.

Features and Benefits

Features

Benefits

Dual compound

Good for everyday commuting

Slick edge

Helps in warmer weather

All-weather performance

Great grip in wet and dry conditions

Long-lasting

No need to swap out on long trips

Funky styling

Different from other tires

Conclusion

Overall, the Michelin Road 5 tires are an excellent choice for those of you who are looking for a long-lasting tire with great performance in both wet and dry conditions.

I would highly recommend the Michelin Road 5 tires to anyone looking for a daily commuter tire that can handle all types of weather.

If you are a sports touring or commuter rider, you are probably familiar with the Pirelli Angel GT 2 tires. These tires have been around for quite some time and have gained a reputation for their exceptional performance and longevity.

In this article, we will take an in-depth look at the Pirelli Angel GT tires and explore their features, benefits, and drawbacks.

But, the main question I will answer in this review will be: Is this the best touring tire for you? Let’s find out!

Pirelli Angel GT ll

Features

Extended Mileage

Ideal for sports riders

Reinforced, 2-ply carcass

Check Prices

The Pirelli Angel GT tires are designed for high-powered sports and sport-touring motorcycles. They are available in two-speed ratings – (W) for speeds of 168+ mph and (V) for speeds up to 149 mph. These tires are ideal for riders who want increased mileage without sacrificing grip and traction.

Features

Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) Technology

One of the most notable features of the Pirelli Angel GT tires is their Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) technology.

This technology provides the best-in-class for mileage and grip, which is perfect for riders who want to go the extra mile without having to replace their tires frequently.

Dual Compound Design

The Angel GT tires feature a dual compound design that offers superior handling and performance in corners.

The center of the tire is made of a harder compound that provides longer tire life, while the shoulders are made of a softer compound that offers excellent grip in corners.

Bi-Compound Rear Tires

The rear tires of the Pirelli Angel GT feature a new Bi-compound formula that improves cornering traction. This feature is especially beneficial for riders who like to push their bikes to the limit in corners.

“A Spec” Tires

The Pirelli Angel GT “A Spec” tires feature a reinforced, 2-ply carcass that provides better stability and handling, particularly under heavy loads or high-speed riding.

“D Spec” Tires

The Pirelli Angel GT “D Spec” tires are the original equipment (OE) tires for the Ducati Multistrada 1200 GT. These tires are specifically designed to meet the requirements of this particular motorcycle model.

Improved Wet Grip

The Pirelli Angel GT tires are known for their exceptional wet grip, which is a result of the advanced silica compounds used in the tread. This feature provides riders with confidence and stability in wet conditions.

Tubeless

All Pirelli Angel GT tires are tubeless, which means that they can be mounted without an inner tube. This feature reduces the risk of sudden tire failure due to a puncture.

Check Prices

Likes and Dislikes

This is my second set of Angel GTs for this bike, and I really liked the first set. However, the first set was not the A-Spec, which has a reinforced sidewall and is more suited for heavier motorcycles.

Initial Impressions

I did a quick little ride around town to break them in a bit. I noticed that they seem to be a little bit more rigid than the standard Angel GTs.

However, after getting about 100 miles on them, they didn’t feel greasy at all when breaking them in. The weather was not cooperating with me that day, so I decided to head back home.

At Day 13

I have been on the road with these touring tires for 13 days and have put about 3,500 miles on them so far. The wear is pretty good, and they are a little uneven, but still have a lot of grooves left on them.

The front tire looks pretty good, while the rear is flattening out just slightly. I have been on a mix of super technical, hard, heavy braking, hard, heavy acceleration, and a lot of highway miles at 90 mph.

I have been checking the air pressure daily and inflating it to the BMW-recommended 42 psi cold. They fluctuate just a little bit depending on the altitude that I’m in.

At Day 17

The wear on the rear tire is a little bit more noticeable but still has a decent amount of life left. They have worked well in various weather conditions, including 100+ degrees, the mid-20s, monsoon rain, and dry, and hot highways running 85-90 mph all day.

At 6500 Miles

I got about 6,500 miles on these tires and was really happy with them. They did really well in wet and dry conditions and at sustained speeds of 90 mph.

The one thing that I wasn’t super excited about was how they ran on grooved pavement, but after about 4,000 miles, I didn’t even notice it.

There’s still a lot of life left on the sides of the tire, but the center is wearing down a bit. Overall, the Pirelli Angel GT2 A Spec Tires are a great investment for motorcycle enthusiasts who value high-performance tires.

I have been on the road for 17 days and have put a little over 4,500 miles on these tires. The front tire is doing pretty well, wearing a little bit along the edge.

When it comes to touring motorcycles, choosing the right tires is as important as selecting the bike itself. The wrong set of tires can not only affect your riding experience but also put your safety at risk.

With so many options available in the market, it can be hard to find the best touring tires, never mind pick one that suits your needs perfectly.

That’s why I decided to compile a list of some of the best touring motorcycle tires based on my experience and research.

Pirelli Angel GT ll

Pirelli Angel GT ll

Features

Extended Mileage

Ideal for sports riders

Reinforced, 2-ply carcass

Check Prices

When it comes to touring motorcycle tires, the Pirelli Angel GT II is an absolute standout. As someone who’s ridden on these tires extensively, I can confidently say that they offer a perfect balance of grip and longevity that is hard to find elsewhere in the market.

This touring tire has been designed specifically for those who want exceptional performance on the street while still getting long mileage out of their investment.

The original Pirelli Angel GT was already one of my favorite touring tires ever, but its successor takes everything up a notch.

The dual-compound design with harder rubber in the center strip provides impressive wear resistance while ensuring excellent maneuverability when leaning into corners thanks to softer rubber at the shoulders.

Plus, you don’t have to worry about sacrificing wet or dry grip because this tire delivers top-notch traction regardless of riding conditions.

And if you’re looking for something that can handle heavier bikes, go for the ace spec version – trust me, your ride quality will thank you.

As we’ve seen in the previous section, Michelin Road 5 Trail is a great option for touring motorcycle tires due to its exceptional wet grip.

However, if you’re looking for something that can handle off-road terrain, the Michelin Anakee Adventure might just be what you need.

What’s interesting about this tire is that it offers an 80/20 ratio of on-road to off-road capabilities. This means that while it’s primarily designed for road use, it still has enough tread and durability to tackle some light off-roading adventures.

The front tire features Michelin’s advanced 2CT technology with two different silica blends, which provides excellent traction at various lean angles, even in wet conditions.

Meanwhile, the rear tire comes with 2CT+ technology—a layering of different durometers of rubber around the main contact patch—to enhance rigidity, stability at high speeds, and handling ability when riding over uneven surfaces under load.

Overall, the Michelin Anakee Adventure is a reliable choice for those who want a versatile set of touring tires that can handle both road and light off-road duties.
