LS2 FF390 Breaker Features

Whether you’re a seasoned rider or new to the world of motorcycling, this review will provide valuable insights into one of the most popular helmets on the market.

Design and Features

The LS 2 Breaker is available in four solid colors and several graphics, including a unique chrome graphic.

If you prefer a half helmet, you may want to check out the LS 2 Rebellion, which is designed for cruiser riders.

The LS 2 Breaker is DOT and ECE rated, and its shell is made from a kinetic polymer alloy, which provides more flex than fiberglass, allowing it to absorb more energy. It also has a dual-density EPS liner for energy management.

The EPS liner has channels for ventilation, and the helmet has adjustable vents on the front and top to help with defrosting the face shield. Exhaust vents in the rear also extract hot air and keep you comfortable.

The inside liner of the LS 2 Breaker is made from technical fabric that feels like neoprene and is comfortable against the skin.

The foam is laser-cut for a precise fit, and the helmet is designed for an intermediate oval head shape.

The neck roll provides a better seal, making the helmet quieter, and the chin skirt is made from leather, adding a touch of detail.

Pricing and Value.

The LS 2 Breaker is reasonably priced, starting at around $200 for the solid colors and increasing for the graphics and chrome graphics.

Emergency Cheek Pulls and Quick Release Mechanism.

The LS 2 Breaker has emergency cheek pulls, which are useful in case of an accident. The helmet also has magnets that hold the two cheek pads together, adding value to the helmet.

However, reattaching the tether to the cheek pull after cleaning the liner can be a little difficult.

The quick-release mechanism of the LS 2 Breaker is made from a metal-to-metal latch, which is safe and easy to use even with gloved hands. The strap can be adjusted for a set-and-forget fit.

Compatibility with Eyewear.

If you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses with your helmet, you’ll appreciate the notches cut out in the cheek pad of the LS 2 Breaker, which accepts the arms without creating pressure points in the temple area.

However, the drop-down sun visor may not accommodate larger sunglasses converted into eyeglasses.

Face Shield

The face shield of the LS 2 Breaker is race-inspired and made from a thick, 3mm material.

The tab in the center allows for easy opening and closing, regardless of whether you’re left- or right-handed or holding the throttle.

The quick-release system on the side is easy to use, and the trigger easily releases the shield.

The helmet also has a drop-down sun visor that provides excellent coverage and can be retracted when not needed.

Aesthetics and Fit

The LS 2 Breaker has a clean and streamlined design and is suitable for riders in the three-quarter to an upright position.

It may not be aggressive enough for those in full tuck positions, but the manufacturer offers other helmets, such as the LS 2 Arrow, for track-oriented riders.

The LS 2 Breaker comes in sizes XS to 3XL, and the three shell sizes ensure a great fit and a nice weight-to-size ratio.

What I Like and Don’t Like About This Helmet

Pros:

I tested this helmet over a two-week period and found it fitted my oddly shaped head quite well and was comfortable.

I hadn’t been riding for too long before the helmet was broken in, so no sore ears. Thas one thing I don’t like abut testing so many helmets is that they are tight at the beginning which can give me a sore head in different places.

Cons:

One thing that let this helmet down was the quick-release strap system. I realize it is a safety feature, but because of this, I couldn’t use the under-seat helmet hook that my sports bike has. Not a massive deal breaker, but it was inconvenient.

When I first put the helmet on, I found the cheek pads a little tight, but after swapping them out for a smaller set, it fitted just right. I told you I have an oddly shaped head.

Apart from these two small issues, I found that the LS2 Breaker was good value for money.
